Event Operations Manager – B2B Events

Central London, Hybrid Working

Base to £40,000 + OTE £45,000 + Benefits

The Opportunity

A well-regarded, fast-growing B2B events business is looking for an Event Operations Manager to take the reins on a portfolio of flagship conferences and events.

This is a senior, visible role with real accountability. You will work closely with the CEO and wider leadership team, with genuine influence over how the event programme is run and how it develops. The Day-to-Day

No two weeks will look the same, but here is what you can expect to be across:

• Taking full accountability for how each event is planned, managed and delivered, from the first project meeting through to on-site execution and post-event wrap
• Keeping all moving parts connected, stakeholders informed and timelines on track across a busy, multi-event calendar
• Sourcing and building relationships with suppliers in the UK and overseas.
• Managing relationships with speakers, sponsors and strategic partners with the same level of care and professionalism at every touchpoint
• Sitting alongside senior leadership in shaping how events are developed and improved year on year
• Running the numbers. You will own your event P&Ls, keep a close eye on budgets and costs, and report clearly on financial performance and forecasting
• Producing reporting that is accurate, timely and genuinely useful to the people who depend on it
• Rolling up your sleeves. This is a hands-on environment and the best people here lead from the front

What We Are Looking For

• A successful track record in Event Operations in a B2B events environment. Ideally 2 + years of direct experience in a company that creates and delivers their own commercially focused business conferences, summits, expos etc – this is not an agency or inhouse events environment.
• Organisational ability that others notice. Lists, systems, checklists, follow-ups: these are not a chore for you, they are how you operate
• The pace to keep up with a busy portfolio without things slipping. You manage multiple priorities at once and you do it well
• Commercial confidence, including working with budgets, managing costs and understanding what makes an event financially successful
• Communication skills that work at every level, from a supplier call on the morning of an event to a strategic conversation with the CEO
• The kind of initiative that means problems get solved before they are escalated. You read situations quickly, make good decisions and keep things moving
