Department Overview
The Marketing department is responsible for creating best-in-class campaigns that maintain and grow our customer base – increasing brand awareness to acquire new customers and deepening engagement with our existing community to increase LTV. Our award-winning marketing department consists of four teams: brand marketing, brand partnership marketing, content and paid media.
Role Overview
This is a three-month summer placement for someone at the start of their social media career who wants hands-on experience across two of the most exciting platforms in beauty right now. As Social Media Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of Space NK’s Instagram and TikTok channels – helping to plan, create and publish content that drives reach, engagement and community growth. You’ll report into the Social Media Manager and work closely with the wider Social Media, Content and Marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day planning, execution and publishing of organic content across Instagram and TikTok.
Help maintain the content calendars for both channels, preparing captions and assets for internal review and scheduling in advance.
Assist in planning and producing original content ideas for both platforms, with an awareness of what works natively on each.
Support the creation of content briefs for internal teams and external partners.
Help with community management across Instagram and TikTok – responding to comments and engaging with followers and flagging anything requiring escalation..
Contribute to weekly and monthly performance reports, helping to pull data and summarise channel activity.
Conduct regular content and competitor audits, flagging trends and opportunities to the team.
Support with sample management, organisation and other ad hoc admin as needed.
Attend Space NK events and stores to capture content with founders and creators where required.
Keep a close eye on platform updates, social trends and new content formats, sharing relevant opportunities with the team.
About You
You’re a creative, enthusiastic person at the beginning of your social media journey – someone who spends a lot of time on Instagram and TikTok, has a genuine interest in beauty and is excited by the idea of helping shape content for one of the UK’s most loved premium beauty retailers.
What we’re looking for:
A real interest in social media, content creators and platform trends across Instagram and TikTok.
Enthusiasm for content creation – filming, editing and ideating.
An interest in the beauty industry.
Comfortable on camera and able to react quickly to trends.
Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in.

A note on the placement
This is a paid three-month fixed-term placement running from June until the end of to August. It’s designed to give early-career candidates meaningful, practical experience in social media within a leading beauty retail brand.
